Nugget Box

These are little Hershey chocolate nugget boxes. You can make them in all shapes and sizes. I'm sure this could also be done with Timtex and fabric. Hmmm..maybe that's my next experiment. I guess the drawback to making these little chocolate boxes is that you eat the chocolate as you are making it! But, I guess some may say, this isn't a drawback at all.

I learned how to do these cute little Hershey chocolate boxes here.

QA Door Challenge and Gifts From Abroad

I received these lovely cards from Doreen. They are all so wonderful and I will treasure them all. In addition, I got some wonderful paper. I have an idea what I will do with it...so it may come back to you Doreen. I also received this beautiful tassel from Doreen. For our next batch of cards, we are going to do fairies and shaving cream. Ideas are swirling! I also did a 3D card in fabric, but I think I will not show this and this will be one of the cards I will give to Doreen. I really like how it turned out. I think I did it the difficult way though. I used tear away stablizer and batting to layer but now I'm thinking Timtex would have been easier...so I'll try this as well.

Also, sometime soon, I'll show my QA submission for the door challenge. At first I wanted to alter it in photoshop, but then the rules stated it had to be 75% in tact so I played it safe and just did it as is. But, wouldn't some of these ideas been cool?

Cards

I wanted to wait until Doreen received her card before I showed this one. Doreen and I are having fun trading cards, since we also like to do this as well. This card uses webbing spray and Basic Grey card stock and a "Stampin Up" quote stamp.

New Postcards

I made these postcards for the color composition trade we are having at SurfaceDesign. I really like the effect of purple. So, I combined purple with various other colors to see the impact. These are all fabrics I dyed.

Binding tutorial

I was browsing around some blogs and came across a binding tutorial that makes perfect bindings. She is working with this striped fabric and at the end lines it up perfectly. I couldn't believe it so here is Jan's link. In addition, I love her quilts.

Tissue Paper Experiments

Here is my first finished product that I liked while experimenting with tissue paper. I've done a couple of other things that I didn't like. I think I am going to try embossing next since I am becoming the queen of embossing .

Check out QA Newsletter

It's out! QA has published their weekly newsletter. Please all sign up for the newsletter if you want to see how to emboss MistyFuse. There is no link right now for this. But, I do have a link on creating the citrus fruit..here.

This has been such a great experience and has inspired me more to think about writing more articles. I really enjoy the process. I have a couple more ideas that I hope to write about.

Here are some extra pictures of embossing with MF.

Cards

Here are some cards that I made. I really love all things french including toile. I have been experimenting with embossing and love it! These images are all embossed. Stamps are from "Stampin Up". And, those leaves Carol Straus was so generous to part with and they are really vintage. I believe they are from before WW1. Aren't they just great?

Next up, I need to work on some color composition PC's for the trade in SurfaceDesign. After I am caught up with my trades, I really want to work on an art quilt.

Work in Process and Sneak Peak!

I have been diligently working on a small tutorial for Embellishments, which is the weekly newsletter for Quilting Arts. If you don't subscribe, you should! I think my tutorial will be in next weeks letter. I'll post a link when it does become available. Here is a sneak peak..and I shall say no more until the tutorial comes out .

I also have been experimenting with tissue paper. I hope to show the results of this soon...I shall call it so far "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."
